I am like a lot of gardeners. I bet I'm a lot like you. Plants fascinate me for their colour, texture, scent and pure tenacity. When they grow successfully, they give me so much joy I wish the warm growing season would never end.
I tend a Zone 2/3 garden that features hardy perennials and edibles. In my corner of Ontario, the growing seasons are short, making the gardening experience a special, short-lived highlight of each year. Truth be told, I've been gardening in Northwestern Ontario for better than 25 years. For many of those years I didn't know much. My gardens were modest, but my passion grew. I read magazines and books, and worked to give my garden a unique character. I still have lots to learn and I love that. Today, I am proud to be part of the Master Gardeners of Ontario Inc. (MGOI), a gardening organization that reaches across Canada and beyond. MGOI has given me new friends, solid horticultural knowledge, and wonderful garden mentors. I encourage you to seek out the Master Gardeners in your area for advice and information. In my professional life, I've worked as an editor and writer, always with an academic focus. I started this website because I love to help others learn more about gardening. My passions are impactful design, planting for pollinators, garden ornament and growing edibles. When it comes to gardening, I believe inspiration is everywhere. I hope this website brings you a little inspiration each visit. |
"In my garden there is a large place for sentiment. My garden of flowers is also my garden of thoughts and dreams. The thoughts grow as freely as the flowers, and the dreams are as beautiful."
